Daphney Smith-Jackson
Founder & President

Women Who Uplifts fearless founder, Daphney Michelle Smith-Jackson, a Hagerstown, MD native, has faced many obstacles in life.

These trials began at age 7 learning of the murder of her father. At age 12 she was molested, she then lost her mother at the age of 14, and shortly thereafter became a teen mom to a beautiful baby girl at age 15. Daphney gave birth to her second child who was still born in 1993. Dropping out of high school in her senior year, having been involved in various mentally and physically abusive relationships, by age 22 Daphney was a single mother of 3 living children, without gainful employment. Despite the many trials Daphney has faced in life, giving up was not an option. Daphney’ s tenacious nature and workhorse mentality would force her to turn the statistic inside out.

Present day, Daphney is a North Carolina resident of 6 years, where she met her husband of 4 years, Ethan Jackson.

In August of 2015, Daphney founded Broker Builder Solutions, LLC. Broker Builder Solutions partners with group Benefits Brokers and Human Resource professionals to implement and support their enrollment platforms such as Employee Navigator and other Benefits administration software. Daphney started the company in her kitchen and in just 4.5 years has grown the organization to a team of 13. Daphney was honored to be recognized as a Champion on Enterprising Women Magazine’s 2020 list of World’s Top Women Entrepreneurs. Daphney is an active member of the Raleigh chapter of WPO (Women’s President Organization) and enjoys giving back to her community.

Daphney’s drive for the Women Who Uplift mentoring initiative stems from her desire to encourage and inspire all woman to fight through the many jabs that life throws your way. To use those jabs as building blocks and not roadblocks. Daphney wants to share her story and encourage women that no matter the obstacles faced in life you have the power to equip yourself with the tools to overcome and evolve into a better version of yourself.
